The three energies and qualities of Hecate that we are focusing on are Choice, Awareness, and The Dark.  As the Goddess of Crossroads, Hecate helps us to make the choices which are right for us and which are in alignment with our soul’s blueprint.  Hecate as a Crone Goddess, assists us in becoming aware of our Selves and all that we are: our strengths, our weaknesses, our loves, and even our hates.  As the Dark Goddess, she understands and teaches us about the power to be found in the Dark.  She guides us into the dark cavern of our souls to awaken us to our divine truth.

Hecate always stands at crossroads where three roads meet.  It is a good idea to have three choices when making a decision, rather than just two.  Two gives you an either/or situation, whereas, three gives you an “and”.  The three roads also represent the past, future, and present.  Many of the images show Hecate standing at a crossroads with her three-headed dog.  The dog can see all three ways.  The dog’s three heads are so that it can see the past, the present, and the future simultaneously.

When we stand at a crossroads of our life, we are given the opportunity to look forward to what we desire in our life.  We can make the choices that will change our lives completely or keep them as they are.  When you stand at a crossroads in your life, you always have a choice.  Even if it may not seem like it, you do.  As you become aware of your choices, you become aware of your Self, of your Soul self.  This awareness can help you in making your decisions and the choices that you make.  Many of us came here with a soul purpose, a calling to serve or to do a task, or even connect with someone and share our unique wisdom.  Hecate’s Crossroads can help you walk upon the path your soul chose when it incarnated in this life. 

One of Hecate’s qualities is being a Dark Goddess.  She teaches us about the dark and gives us the blessings of the dark.  The dark is NOT evil, nor is it negative energy.  The dark is the Feminine Divine energy, whereas the light is the Masculine Divine.  The dark is a place of rest, of rejuvenation, of solace, and of solitude.  The dark is where we go for introspection.  There is a reason why we tend to close our eyes to meditate.  We go into the dark.  We go into our Selves.  We can only find the deep core of who we are in the depths of our Soul.
